Overall Review

Introduction In this blog post, I will reflect on all my work I've done for this unit and discuss what went well, what went wrong, areas of improvement, and the skills I've learned.  Review This unit was valuable because I learned a lot of new skills and improved myself professionally and critically. Another thing I will take away with me is the experience I had with the target audience. Getting the audience involved with my work made me feel more like a designer and gave me confidence about my work. Normally I would keep it to myself and when it came to wanting feedback, I'd just ask if they liked it or not. But this time I got them involved fully and asked for their honest opinions about my work. I made a questionnaire on how I could improve and put it on my social media since I follow people in Gen Z. I got given a lot of feedback which I wasn't expecting but it really helped me progress because I knew what I needed to do. I now know the importance and benefits of cr...

Huddersfield Pride Poster | Critical Reflection

Above is the final version of my poster. I had to overcome multiple problems and a lot of finalisation to get to this outcome. For me, the most important aspect I learned while completing this poster was the use of audience feedback. This resulted in me producing an accurate item that I knew the target audience will find appealing because they helped create it.  Previously in past assignments, my audience feedback was lacking apart from, asking if someone likes it or not. Subsequently, I have now noticed the importance of asking for that feedback and getting your work out there for others to see and not just your peers.  They pointed out areas that needed improving or even fixing which I didn't notice myself. It also made me more confident as a designer as I was showcasing my work to 100 hundreds of people on my social media. Normally I would have kept it hidden and to myself but now knowing the benefits of au...

Huddersfield Pride Poster Critical Analysis

The purpose of this poster is to promote the upcoming pride event taking place in Huddersfield. My message can be easily understood because of the eye-catching 'Huddersfield PRIDE' logo centred in the middle of the poster. The viewer will instantly know what it is and where it's taking place since I have included the time, date and location so that the audience is aware of this. The headlights act as leading lines to help guide the viewer towards the logo and text at the bottom of the poster. I've aligned all the elements in the centre to highlight the importance of the text. The logo and train station graphic is the biggest on the page because people read bigger things first. Naturally, the viewer's eyes should then read the text underneath, informing them about the details of the event.  Expanding on hierarchy, the typeface used within this product represents the pride event and the art deco design style. I didn't want the poster to look uninteresting so I mad...
