The purpose of this poster is to promote the upcoming pride event taking place in Huddersfield. My message can be easily understood because of the eye-catching 'Huddersfield PRIDE' logo centred in the middle of the poster. The viewer will instantly know what it is and where it's taking place since I have included the time, date and location so that the audience is aware of this.
The headlights act as leading lines to help guide the viewer towards the logo and text at the bottom of the poster. I've aligned all the elements in the centre to highlight the importance of the text. The logo and train station graphic is the biggest on the page because people read bigger things first. Naturally, the viewer's eyes should then read the text underneath, informing them about the details of the event.
Expanding on hierarchy, the typeface used within this product represents the pride event and the art deco design style. I didn't want the poster to look uninteresting so I made the text different sizes to avoid this problem and to give focus to the more important details such as the location, time and date. The product mixes between multiple typefaces to create diversity. However, the main focal point is the Pride logo and train station which has been created in the art deco design style. I decided to choose the train station because it's well known due to it holding the biggest events and historic buildings.
Above is the colour pallet I used on most of my products. Using the same colour scheme would create a brand identity and a smooth consistency among my products. Of course, bright colours will stand out from any muted background. The logo supports this idea because of its use of vibrant pastel colours contrasting between the different shades of blue. This is an analogous colour scheme because varies in saturation to create a tone within the item rather than it all being one colour.
The art deco design style is appropriate for the target audience because they chose it. Gen Z gravitates towards brighter colours so it makes sense to create a vibrant logo and poster.
